–Campsite FAQ–

Opening Hours
Thu, 20.07.17, from 10.00 am to
Mo, 24.07.17 3.00 pm

All campsite residents can travel to the site by car, by public transportation, with our free shuttlebusses departing from the trainstation or with our official party busses (HardTours and Feierreisen). Further information can be found under „Travel FAQs“.

There is sufficient parking space near the campsite. Please be sure to purchase a Full Weekend Campsite Parking Ticket in advance via tickets.parookaville.com as the price for the parking ticket sold upon arrival is significantly higher.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Campsite residents can also be dropped off by parents or friends. Therefore please follow the signs „Hol- & Bringzone Campsite“ (Campsite Drop-off & Pick-Up Zone) where cars can stop briefly to unload and load passengers and their gear.

Capacity at the PAROOKAVILLE Campsite is limited, so all campsite residents are required to set up their tents close to one another and make sure to build up tents etc. with as few space inbetween as possible. The general guidline is that at least two people should share tents designed for 2-3 people. Of course you can bring your own tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats etc. Alternatively, you can also buy tents and related equipement in the PENNY Store on the campsite at affordable prices. Large (group) tents with more than 8 sleeping spaces are not permitted! Our security personnel will examine the tent sizes when you enter the campsite. Instructions from our security personnel must be followed at all times! To ensure a space-saving structure on the campsite our security personnel will open the individual campsite lots gradually. As soon as one area is filled up with enough tents, the next area will be opened. Therefore it is not predictable how fast and in which direction the campsite will be filled up. This also means that the first residents on scene will probably not camp at the popular area around the PENNY store. Caravans, cars and trailers are not permitted on the campsite!

Classic pavilions (3×3 meters) are permitted for groups of 5 or more people. Our security personnel will also check on this, both during check-in and during the set-up. Instructions from our security personnel must be followed at all times! In the PENNY Camp only pavilions can be set up, which residents receive from PENNY – additional pavilions are not permitted.

Valuables can be stored in our lockers on the Festival Site on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be no lockers on the campsite! We recommend booking your locker in advance at the Add-On Shop via MyTicketPortal. Attention: The lockers can only be used during the official opening hours of the Festival Site!

PAROOKAVILLE is one of the few festivals in Europe that does not use portable chemical toilets. Instead, in 2017 you can again look forward to our comfortable toilet cabins with conventional flushing facilities. All toilet areas are conveniently located so that you can easily reach them in only a few minutes. All toilets are free of charge and cleaned several times a day. In the event that new toilet paper is needed or a toilet needs cleaning, please notify the cleaning team on-site.

Washing / Showers
To wash off the sweat from dancing, you can use our familiar festival washing troughs and our numerous shower containers located on the campsite. The washing troughs (with drinking water) can be used free of charge at all times. The shower cabins with warm water can be used for a surcharge for each shower (1 token; free for VIP attendees). Be sure to take advantage of our Shower-Happy-Hour from 5:30 to 8:00 a.m. for half-price (1/2 Token).

(Drinking) Water
Fresh, free drinking water is available to all campsite residents at all times at our toilet and shower locations.

There is always a touch of adventure to PAROOKAVILLE! This is why electricity is only available for hair dryers or shaving at the shower containers. Smartphones can be charged with the help of Power Banks at the charging stations, but you need to bring your own charging cable.

Attention: No electricity generators of any kind or car batteries are permitted on the campsite! Our security personnel will also check for this during check-in. If you want to listen to music from your own speakers please observe the regulations under the heading “Music”.

This is the heart of our campsite! Whether you’re a fast-food junkie or a festival gourmet, whether you’re looking for cold cans of WARSTEINER beer or for water, grilling meat, fruit or fresh bread, our PENNY Store has everything the festival-goer’s heart desires, all at the original discounted prices you’re accustomed to from PENNY.
Pay for your PENNY Store purchases comfortably with cash or your EC debit card or a credit card.
SPECIAL: Need cash? No problem! With purchases of at least 20 Euros, our PENNY Store will give you up to 200 Euros in cash drawn on your EC debit card. If you still want to bring everything from home, that’s fine too.
Attention: Food and drinks you have brought with you can only be consumed on the campsite, not on the Festival Site. In addition, no glass whatsoever is permitted on the entire Festival Site and the Campsite!

PENNY Camp Upgrade
The PENNY Camp is a separate area located directly next to the popular PENNY Store. The upgrade can only be booked as an add-on to the Full Weekend & Campsite Visa. After check-in, the tents’s and accessories’ ownership transfers to the buyer. The already set up layout of the tents in the PENNY Camp means that no additional pavilions brought by guests can be set up there. If you want to camp next to friends in the PENNY Camp, then be sure to check in together (or bring your friend’s PENNY Camp voucher with you)

Campsite Currencies
You can pay for purchases at the PENNY Store with cash, your EC debit card or by credit card. Showers and Power Banks on the campsite are paid for using Token (1 Token = 3 Euro). Tokens are available at our Bank of PAROOKAVILLE, where you can also stock up on tokens for the Festival Site since everything on the site is paid with tokens as well.
During the officially posted Bank of PAROOKAVILLE business hours you can exchange your tokens for cash again. For informational purposes the precise regulations for token exchange will be publically posted. EXCHANGING TOKENS FOR CASH IS NO LONGER POSSIBLE ONCE PAROOKAVILLE 2017 IS FINISHED!

Grilling, Cooking & Fire
Grilling with disposable and three-legged grills is fundamentally permitted in front of the tent, but must be supervised at all times. The use of grills and gas cookers inside tents is strictly forbidden due to the danger of asphyxiation! ACUTE DANGER!
Please note that the use of ethyl alcohol, petrol or any other combustible liquids is strictly forbidden! The use of commercially available solid charcoal igniters is permitted in accordance with their usage instructions. Grills may not be left unsupervised while burning or burning out. Charcoal is not permitted to burn out on the grass or in the normal rubbish containers. There will be special grilling charcoal containers where charcoal must be disposed of. If poor weather threatens we will inform you in good time and we may be forced to temporarily ban grilling.
In the event of fire notify the Security Personnel immediately or call the Fire Department at the number 112. Security Personnel will be on hand throughout the entire event on the campsite at the designated locations on the map.
Gas camping cookers may only be used with gas cartridges (screw-on canisters and valve cartridges, for instance like those from CampingGaz) up to a maximum filling weight of 450 grams. Camping cookers that use liquid fuel are not permitted. In addition, open fires and campfires are fundamentally forbidden, as is bringing pyrotechnic materials of any kind! Our Security Personnel will check for this during check-in.

A festival is all about music, so of course recorded music can be played and listened to on the campsite. However, no aggregates or car batteries are permitted. Smaller Bluetooth speakers are permitted as long as they are operated using the batteries from the manufacturer. No self-built extra batteries or the like are permitted! Please respect your campsite neighbours with the volume of your music. The PENNY Tower will provide live DJ sets and other music for the entire campsite for 5 whole days!

Lost & Found
Lost items can be turned in or picked up from the Lost-&-Found Office at the Info-Point on the campsite and on the Festival Site. Lost items that are not picked up by the end of the festival will be transferred to the Lost-&-Found Office of the city of Weeze and can be picked up there.

Rubbish/Rubbish Disposal
Please help us keep the PAROOKAVILLE Campsite clean by disposing of your rubbish in the rubbish cans and containers regularly! To ensure that this all works better, there is a rubbish deposit of 5 Euros which is already included in the price of your ticket. When you check in at the campsite you will receive an empty rubbish bag and a corresponding rubbish deposit coin. As soon as you hand over the full rubbish bag and the rubbish deposit coin at one of the rubbish collection points, your 5 Euro deposit is refunded to you. Important: Please check the signs for the collection point opening hours!

Here you go, straight and to the point: All glass bottles and glass containers represent an injury hazard and are therefore prohibited! Extensive inspections will be conducted during your check-in. Beverages and food in Tetra packaging, PET bottles and cans are absolutely OK. And of course you can also get all the beverages you need at our PENNY Store on the campsite. Cosmetic articles (such as perfume, deodorant, make-up) in glass containers are also prohibited and will be confiscated by our Security Personnel and disposed of! Shisha pipes are generally permitted, but only with acrylic bowls. Confiscated glass bottles and glass containers will not be stored at the entrance and cannot be picked up later!

Animals are great, but they don’t belong on the PAROOKAVILLE Campsite! Woof!

Groups/Camping together
If you come to the festival with several friends or in a larger group and you all want to camp next to each other you need to observe the following instructions. Due tot he fact that the individual camping spaces for tents are only opened up gradually for occupation in accordance with the pace of how quickly they are filled up, there are only two possibilities to set up your tents next to one another:
1. You all arrive together and set up your tents at the same time on a space that has been allotted to you in the most space-saving way possible;
2. If members of your group are going to arrive at PAROOKAVILLE later, the first arrivals from the group have to bring ALL of the group’s tents along and set them up immediately after being allotted a camping space.
IMPORTANT: There is NO “saving” free tent spaces for friends who are coming later. Occupancy of the campsite at PV17 will be strictly managed in an orderly fashion by trained personnel. In addition, all rescue routes and emergency escape routes must be kept clear at all times!

Medical Care
Paramedics and emergency personnel will be on hand around the clock for medical emergencies of all kinds at the designated locations on the map. Please make sure at all times to keep the rescue routes and emergency escape routes free of any obstacles! If you bring medications that you need with you, be sure to bring them in the original packaging along with your prescription or a medical certificate verifying that you need them.

This year the popular PENNY Tower returns to the PAROOKAVILLE campsite bigger and better than ever in front of the PENNY Store. We will already host a Pre-Party there on Thursday evening for the perfect kick off to the festival weekend!

Inspections at the Check-In
Security inspections (including “frisking” and bag inspections) will be carried out by our security personnel. Please only bring the minimum that you actually need and open your bags so the searches can be carried out as quickly as possible.
